KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Campbellsville women's soccer saw their season come to an end just three days ago in Kissimmee, Fla. but the accolades and records keep piling up. This time it is the first ever Lady Tiger to be voted on as NAIA All-American.
Mhairi Fyfe has been named to the NAIA All-American Honorable team, the national office announced Monday.
Fyfe picked up first time All Mid-South Conference honors after leading the conference with 24 goals. The sophomore from Livingston, Scotland also led CU with nine assists.
"This is a great honor for Foz (Mhairi)," said CU head coach Thom Jones. "She has become a complete player and is one of the best scorers in the entire country. But what stands out about her is her ability to pass and not be selfish. This award would not have been given to her without her teammates efforts and selfless play all season."
Fyfe broke multiple records this season for the Lady Tigers after scoring in eight consecutive games, recording 18 goals with three consecutive hat tricks sandwiched in the middle during that span.
Ranked No. 5 in the nation, her 24 goals broke the CU single-season record that was highlighted by the team breaking numerous offensive and defensive records this season.
In her two-year career, Fyfe has scored 38 goals and is on pace to shatter the career goals mark that is set at 53.
The Mid-South Conference finished with 12 student-athletes being selected as All-American. Lindsey Wilson led all MSC teams with five selections on the first, second or third team and three of those were on the first team. The Blue Raiders also picked up their fourth NAIA National Championship.
