KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lady Tiger Softball has two players named as All-Americans by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), it was announced today.
Twenty-one players are named to the First, Second and Honorable Mention teams, totaling 63 in all, according to the news release.
Jacqueline Roof, a sophomore from Paducah, Ky.; and Victoria Decker, a senior from Leitchfield, Ky., were named to the First and Second teams, respectively.
Roof was fourth in the nation in runs scored (66), fifth in slugging percentage (0.839) and runs scored per game (1.294) and seventh in home runs (16). She batted .432, led the team in hits (67) and was second in RBIs (47). She is the first-ever Lady Tiger to be named to the NAIA All-American First Team.
Decker was third in the nation in ERA (0.900), sixth in wins (28) and 10th in hits allowed per 9 innings (4.26). She threw 218 innings and struck out 147. She ended her career with an 85-25 record and 521 strikeouts.
Campbellsville won both the Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament titles and were placed in the Morningside Opening Round before its season ended with a 49-10 record - the most wins in program history.
