KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the second time in her career, Campbellsville's
Cassidy Scantland has been named an NAIA All-American, officials announced this week.
Scantland, a junior from Greensburg, Ky. earns third-team honors after winner three tournaments in 2015-16 and finishing in 57
th place at the national championship at Savannah Quarters Country Club.
This season, Scantland won three tournament – Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament, Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament and the UPIKE Spring Invite. With her performance in the Fall, Spring and MSC Championship, Scantland earned her second MSC Golfer of the Year honor.
Scantland, a junior from Greensburg, Ky., sits atop of the rankings in many program record books and is the only Lady Tiger to ever qualify for the national tournament multiple times.
Scantland finishes her junior year ranked No. 13 in the country in scoring average – 77.05. In her career, Scantland has not finished outside of the Top 10 in any tournament besides the national championships and has won 11 tournaments.
In addition to Scantland, The Mid-South Conference had a duo of players earn All-American honors. NAIA National Champion from University of the Cumberlands Kaitlyn Riley earned First-Team All-America honors, while teammate Constanze Sieker earned second-team honors. Sieker was also named the MSC Freshman of the Year and won the MSC Championship in April.
The All-America teams are selected by the NAIA-Women's Golf Coaches Association All-America Committee. A total of 45 student-athletes were honored with the national distinction.
