History was made in March 2007 when Campbellsville University wrestler
Zach Flake won the Tigers' first NAIA individual wrestling national championship. He was recognized for his accomplishment during halftime of the women's basketball game Dec. 10.
CU Athletic Director
Rusty Hollingsworth presented Flake with his championship ring during a special halftime presentation that comes on the heals of the school's first team national championship won by the CU volleyball team Dec. 5. Flake will graduate from Campbellsville during December commencement Dec. 11. He plans to return home to West Chester, Ohio to open his own business.
Flake completed his sophomore season in 2007 with a 20-2 record after winning a 7-6 decision over Brad Cooper of the University of the Cumberlands to win the national title in the 141-pound division. A three-time All-American, he finished sixth as a junior and was runner-up as a senior this past season.
