KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Campbellsville's
Brendan Aguilar and
Victor Ahlbeck were named NAIA Men's Tennis All-Americans, officials announced on Tuesday.
Aguilar, a senior from Las Vegas, was named to the First-Team, which is the first first-teamer in program history.
Ahlbeck, a sophomore from Norway, earned Honorable Mention honors. In total, the two are now the 11
th and 12
th NAIA All-Americans in program history.
Aguilar finished his singles career at CU with a 16-4 record, while Ahlbeck led CU with singles victories on the year with a 17-4 record.
In doubles, the two teamed up as the second-seeded Tiger duo and finished the season with a 17-2 record.
"Brendan (Aguilar) and Victor (Ahlbeck) are very deserving of these awards," said coach
Kyle Caven. "Brendan is an extremely high talent level, and carried us through the NAIA tournament. We will miss Brendan's level professionalism next season.
"Victor is one of the hardest workers we have had here at CU. He gave us his full effort and this is a perfect reward for his development."
The Tigers won their first-ever Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship reached their first NAIA Semifinal appearance, while finishing the season ranked inside the Top 4. CU's 26 wins is also a single-season record.
