Second-half goal lifts CU past Freed

Rebekah Carl scored in the 62nd minute to lift Campbellsville University to victory, 2-1, in a non-conference game at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn., Friday. Cassie Yannelli, who scored the Lady Tigers' first goal of the game, assisted the game-winner. 

The Lady Tigers poured on the shots in the first half, as Freed-Hardeman goalkeeper Tiffany Harris was forced to make nine saves in the period and 14 in the game.

Ashley Corum led Campbellsville's attack with four shots on goal and two off target, while both Carl and Yannelli had five shots in the game, three of which were on goal.

Sarah Akers allowed one goal and collected four saves for the Lady Tigers in net.

CU (7-3-1) remains in West Tennessee this weekend, traveling to Lambuth University for a 2 p.m. game Sunday.
