Bryan makes 66 percent of its shots in downing Lady Tigers 2-0

Box Score
CAMPBELLSVILLE,Ky. - If you can't score you're not going to win many soccer games.

That was the analysis of CU's Women's Coach Thom Jones after Bryan College pinned a 2-0 loss on his team in the opener for both.

Campbellsville outshot the Lady Lions 13-3, but two of the three Bryan shots found net, the game-winner coming in the sixth minute when freshman Ashley Sisk booted one by CU keeper Brandie Hagerman.

"We broke down in the final one-third," said Jones. "We controlled the defense, we controlled the middle and we won nearly every 50/50 ball. But when we got to the last one-third we panicked. Most of our shots came from 20 yards out and you're not going to make a lot of those."

Bryan's Liz Ponto slipped in an open-net goal in the sixth-sixth minute when Hagerman's attempt to clear a ball took a ricochet bounce right into Ponto's foot.

The Lady Tigers will travel to Cincinnati Christian University on Friday, Sept. 2 for a 7:00 match.
