KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Campbellsville was defeated 2-0 today by Oklahoma Baptist and was eliminated from the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Women's Soccer Championship at the Austin-Tindall Soccer Complex.
The Bison (15-5-1), and a representative of NCAA DII, out-shot the Lady Tigers (11-8-2) 21-1 and dominated their end of the field.
An own goal in the 8
th minute proved to be all Oklahoma would need, but the Bison added some insurance in the 82
nd minute. Kenzie Bice kicked in a crossing feed from Lara Haring-Lovett into a nearly open goal to create a nearly insurmountable deficit.
Anne Hare managed CU's only shot , coming with about three minute remaining in the match.
Emilly Infante led all players with five shots, four on goal. The Bison led corner kicks 8-1 with only 11 combined fouls during the 90 minutes of play.
Campbellsville keeper,
Amanda Howard was peppered most of the afternoon and was good on 10 of the 12 Bison shots on goal, giving her double-digit saves.
The loss today bids a final farewell to five seniors:
Jade Perry,
Devon Burnside,
Laura Poe,
Erica McWilliams and
Chelsea Gill, who were a combined 52-25-3 in their four years as Lady Tigers.
