CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – With two regular-season matches left, the Campbellsville women's soccer team hits the road one last time as it faces Shawnee State University in a crucial Mid-South Conference match on Saturday night at 6 p.m. ET in Portsmouth, Ohio.
The Lady Tigers have won their last three matches to move to 5-9-1 on the season and 3-1-1 in the Mid-South Conference, which is third overall on the conference standings. Over the three-match win streak,
Amanda Howard has allowed just one goal and broke the career program record with 29 shutouts.
During Campbellsville's last match, it picked up a 1-0 victory at home over University of the Cumberlands and the Lady Tigers took over sole possession of third place in the conference standings.
Breanna Baptiste scored the lone goal in the match in the 51st minute.
Rachel Blumfeldt leads Campbellsville this season with 10 goals and 21 total points during her first collegiate season.
Kiersten Clukey is second on the team with 10 points and a team-best four assists, while
Molly Hall and McKayla Shearer each have four goals on the year.
Howard has played all put 27 minutes in goal this season for the Lady Tigers making 79 saves and recording two shutouts and helping Campbellsville notch four clean sheets this season.
Shawnee State dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 16 Cumberland University earlier this week to slip to 8-4-2 and 1-3-1 in the MSC. The Bears are winless in their last three contests and played to a 2-2 draw against Cumberlands a week ago. Maddie Woodard has racked up 34 points this season with 15 goals and four assists. Jenny Campbell is second on the team with 11 goals and 25 total points. Michaela Garner is the only player for Shawnee State to appear in goal making 86 saves and recording six shutouts.
In last year's matchup between the Lady Tigers and the Bears, Shawnee State earned a 2-0 victory over Campbellsville at Finley Stadium. Campbell scored both goals for the Bears last season.
Saturday's match is set to kickoff from the Shawnee Turf at 6 p.m. ET.
