CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville used a three-run homer by
Hailey Szpila in the sixth inning and a game-ending double play in the seventh to earn a split with Olivet Nazarene today at Veterans Memorial Park.
Olivet (2-1) nearly spoiled a six-hit day by freshman
Mia Aldridge. Campbellsville (5-5) saw Aldridge go 4-for-4 in the first game with two RBIs and 2-for-3 in the second game.

Morgan Gailor (3-2), chasing her after three innings of seven-hit ball.
ONU scored twice in the second inning and had a four-run third when the Tigers sent 11 players to the plate.
Rachel Denkins was solid in relief, keeping CU in the game until the very end. Denkins gave up three hits in her four innings of work with three strikeouts.
In the fourth inning the Lady Tigers started to make some noise. Brianna Scoot and Aldridge started the frame with singles. With two outs
Markie Smith drew a walk and Scott scored when a pitch hit
Tori Humphrey. A wild pitch by Emily Carstens scored another run.
CU picked up another run in the fifth on Aldridge's double.
In the seventh, the Lady Tigers score twice again, but could not push across a tying run. Scott singled with two outs and scored on Aldridge's second double of the game. Alexix Smith fly ball to center scored the final run.

GAME 2 – Olivet Nazarene 3, Campbellsville 1
It was a pitcher's duel in Game 2 with
Neely Quint (2-3) getting the best of Olivet's Jaime Kiefer thanks to Szpila's home run shot to right field.
Quint gave up three hits, two in the seventh inning along with a walk that loaded the bases — her only base on balls in the game.
But
Jacqueline Roof and
Brittany Rippy combined for a 6-4-3 double play to end the threat.
In the sixth inning, Aldridge singled with two outs and
Alexis Smith followed with a single to center. Szpila, who dodged three opportunities by Olivet to get her out on foul balls, finally connected on a 2-2 pitch and sent it over the right field fence. It was her first home run of the season.
Brittany Rippy had a bunt single in the third and Szpila had a single in the second inning for her two hits.
The Lady Tigers will be on the road at the Gulf Shores (Ala.) Invitational when they play Middle Georgia State on Friday, March 3 at 3 p.m. and Morningside at 7 p.m.
