Hall scores twice to lead Lady Tigers past Columbia Int'l; CU finishes season with 14-10 record

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Four Lady Tiger seniors ended their careers today with a win as Campbellsville University women's soccer finished NCCAA Championship Pool Play with a 2-1 victory over Columbia International.

The Lady Tigers finish the year with a 14-10 record in head coach Daniel Branley's first year at the helm.

Campbellsville dominated the match for the most part besides a slip up in the 26thminute. The Rams' Rebecca Giancana scored on an assist to Mikki Olson to put Columbia International ahead – which was the score at halftime as well.

CU did have a chance in the 35th. Molly Hall created an opening for freshman Hope Sanders but her right-footed boot sailed high. In the 39th, Hall also had a chance, but Columbia International's Sam Wammock picked up one of her 13 saves on the day.

At the break, CU was leading the shots category, 13-3, and shots on goal, 6-2, but the Rams (8-9-6) held the lead.

The second half went all in favor of Campbellsville. In the 56thminute, Rachel McWilliams served up a corner and sophomore Molly Hall was there for a header – her 20thgoal of the year.

Just two minutes later, Hall scored her 21stof the year. Lakin Walls, CU's scoring leader coming into the day, found Hall striking into the box and she fired one past Wammock to put CU ahead, 2-1.

Five minutes later, Hall was inches away from netting a hat trick, but her shot hit the post. She finished the year with 21 goals – one ahead of Walls.

Sydney Pinkham kept the Lady Tigers in front late by picking up back-to-back diving saves in the 87th. She finished the afternoon with five saves.

The win ends the Lady Tigers season with a 14-10 record, as CU didn't make it out of Pool Play after going 1-2 in Florida.

The two top seeds won their way with 3-0 records to reach the finals. No. 1 Trinity Christian College and No. 2-seed Oklahoma Wesleyan University play in the finals on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.
