NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Campbellsville swept its way to a season-opening road win against Indiana University Southeast, 7-0, on Saturday night.
The Lady Tigers (1-0) took all three singles matches and won the four singles contests in straight sets to start their 2018 campaign.
At No. 1 doubles, the duo of
Kaede Amano and
Majella Nobile (ranked 16th in the NAIA) earned an 8-0 win over Tamerra Horton and Dana Frank. In the second-seeded doubles match,
Bolor Enkhbayar and
Grace Rowe grabbed an 8-6 victory against Lauren Winchell and Camille Greenwell, while the No. 3 doubles ended the double matchups with
Brooklyn Harris and
Bailey Decker winning 8-6 against Brennyn Pollert and Anne-Marie Mattox.
The first singles point came from 25th-ranked Amano at No. 1 singles, as she did not drop a game against Horton en route to putting the Lady Tigers on top 4-0. Nobile clinched the match against the Grenadiers (2-2) with a 6-0, 7-5 win against Winchell in the third-seeded singles contest.
To finish of the dual, Enkhbayar beat Frank, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 2 singles, while the No. 4 doubles match featured Rowe beating Greenwell, 6-2, 6-3.
Campbellsville returns to the court on Friday night at 8 p.m. ET against NCAA Division II Bellarmine University from Louisville, Ky.
