GREENVILLE, ILL. – Campbellsville was able to come away with a third place team finish with 102 team points behind
Shawn Little's big performance.
The double which is known as running the 10,000m and 5,000m run in one meet is considered to be one of the hardest feets in track and field to win. Little did just that this afternoon and was named NCCAA Track MVP. He won in a photo finishing time of 15:42.84 just over second place Bryan Hernandez of Grace at 15:42.89.
The Tigers had other key performances come from the 4x100m relay.
Jaron Hamby,
Darionta Bell,
Jackson Harrell, and
Brevon Whitney were able to place third in the event with a time of 42.80.
Caleb Costin led the way in the field events with his second place finish in the shot put. Costin threw for a distance of 14.77m. He added two more points on his day coming from the hammer throw. Costin placed seventh with a mark of 42.28m.
Jeremiah Parker came in eighth in the event with a mark of 42.28m as well.
Jarrett Crawford and
Chaise Hill collected nine team points in the 3,000m steeplechase. Crawford placed fourth with a time of 10:07.37 while Hill was fifth finishing at 10:09.91.
Senior
Sam Kiser added another All-American honor to his list of accomplishments. Kiser placed runner-up in the 1,500m run with a time of 3:56.91, missing the NAIA B standard by .41 seconds.
Bell was able to bring in three more points on his day in the 200m finals with his sixth place finish at 22.41.
The final points came from the men's 4x400m relay.
Isaiah Harris, Kiser, Bell, Hamby, and came in sixth place in the event with a time of 3:32.84.
Campbellsville will now send
Shawn Little and
Jacob Hamilton down to Gulf Shores for the NAIA National Championship in two weeks.
