KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The
Lady Tigers head into the 2022 season ranked in the top 25 with their ranking of no. 23.
Last season, Campbellsville reached the NAIA Opening Round for the first time since 2019 and the second time under coach
Alex Adams. Coach Adams was named the Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year for the 2021 season in only his third season as the head coach.
Coach Adams squad will be returning most of his starting lineup from last season. Campbellsville was able to begin presenting themselves as one of the best teams in the country early in the season last year with a win over (RV) Georgia Gwinnett.
Later in the season it followed with a win over University of the Cumberlands who was ranked no. 5 at the time and then a second half come from behind win against Cumberland University who was ranked no. 18 at the time.
Lady Tigers were ranked in the top ten in the country in every statistical category with a featured 64 goals on the season that put them as the fourth best team in the country scoring.
This season, Campbellsville will have seven home games and eight away games. Six of the Lady Tigers matches feature an opponent who is ranked inside the NAIA Preseason Top 25
An early test for Campbellsville will come on Thursday September 1
st when they travel to Grand Rapids to face off against Aquinas College. September 17
th, the team will have a home matchup against Southeastern University who comes in at no. 20 in the preseason polls.
Starting the Mid-South Conference schedule on Tuesday September 20
th with the 16
th ranked Cumberland University. Campbellsville then travel to the 2021 NAIA National Championships home at University of Tennessee Southern on Saturday September 24
th.
Lady Tigers will have two more key matchups. They will host University of the Cumberlands on Saturday October 15
th and finish off the regular season on the road with the Battle of Highway 55 against Lindsey Wilson College.
Campbellsville will open up the regular season on the road on Thursday August 25
th at Kentucky Wesleyan College.
