GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The #9 Lady Tigers traveled to Georgetown College on Friday night to take on the Georgetown Tigers. Despite playing a player down for part of the match, the Lady Tigers secured the victory, 4-1.
In the first half, Campbellsville and Georgetown played an intense match. At an early stage, Marta Prieto scored the match's first goal in the ninth minute. Georgetown quickly equalized with a goal from Bekah Clark seconds later. The Lady Tigers had opportunities to score, and Oddny Helgadottir put Campbellsville up 2-1 with a pass from Prieto. Despite being down a player, Campbellsville kept attacking as they headed to halftime.
The second half began with both teams wanting to take control. Momo Chogyoji scored the third goal from the 25-yard line. Bethin Boyle scored a fourth goal, assisted by Prieto, and extended Campbellsville's lead to 4-1. Campbellsville continued to pressure, while Georgetown worked hard to dominate the field; however, they fell short, and the Lady Tigers secured the victory, 4-1.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action for their senior night, hosting the Bethel University Wildcats in Finley Stadium on Wednesday, October 30. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
