Lady Tigers explode for 59 bench points, fell Warriors 84-44

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The #3 Campbellsville University Lady Tigers' depth was on full display Tuesday night, as the bench erupted for 59 points in an 84-44 rout of the Webber International Warriors. Sophomore Dea Bradley led all scorers with 18 points, and the Lady Tigers forced 22 turnovers with their tenacious defensive effort.

The first quarter was a tight, back-and-forth affair. Webber International shot 46.2% from the field and took a 15-11 lead on a layup from Janaina Goncalves with 2:24 left. The Lady Tigers' bench then sparked an 8-0 run to close the period, starting with a layup from Whitney Hay and capped by a Dea Bradley layup and a fastbreak basket from Lainey Johnson to take a 19-15 lead.

Campbellsville blew the game open in the second quarter, outscoring the Warriors 28-7. The bench unit, specifically Bradley and Johnson, took over. Bradley scored 11 points in the period, while Johnson added nine. A 3-pointer from Bradley at the 3:52 mark pushed the lead to 15, and the Lady Tigers closed the half on a 16-2 run, capped by three straight layups from Johnson to enter halftime with a 47-22 lead.

Webber International found a brief offensive spark to open the second half, cutting the deficit to 47-29. The bench unit checked back in and immediately restored order. Bella Stiles, Abby Gilbert, and Johnson fueled a 16-6 run, with Gilbert scoring eight points in the quarter and adding two blocks on the defensive end. A final layup from Gilbert pushed the lead to 63-35 heading into the final frame.

The fourth quarter was academic as the Lady Tigers' reserves continued to apply pressure. Katy Smiley was perfect from the field, scoring eight points in the final frame, while Talynne Shearer added four. A 3-pointer from Johnson at the 9:03 mark pushed the lead to 33, and a layup by Gilbert with 1:22 remaining gave the Lady Tigers their largest lead of the night at 40 points, sealing the 84-44 victory.
