HATTIESBURG, Miss.- The Tigers took the road to battle the Xavier University of Louisiana Gold Nuggets in the NAIA Tournament First Round on Thursday night. With a tie-breaking goal in the last 10 minutes of the game by Xavier, Campbellsville fell out of the bracket, 2-1.

The match saw a slow start, with little action in the first half. Julia Ogren and Molly Metcalfe attempted to score halfway through the first period, but were unable to score. The Gold Nuggets faced the same odds, collecting shots and coming short of the goal.
Within the first five minutes of the second half, Xavier scored the first goal of the game. Amelie Matheis charged at the opportunity, attempting to retaliate but unable to score. At the 70-minute mark, Ogren assisted Fiona Jolly in scoring Campbellsville's first goal of the match to tie the score. The Gold Nuggets broke the tie with less than ten minutes left on the clock, and the Tigers were unable to regain the lead, ultimately losing the game, 2-1.
