CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The #25 Lady Tigers hosted the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders to start their three-game series. Campbellsville won one but lost one at the end of day one against Lindsey Wilson, securing prolific Head Coach Shannon Wathen her 800th win at the helm of the program.
GAME ONE: Campbellsville 1, Lindsey Wilson 3
The first two innings were short-lived for both teams, as they put each other away in a three-up, three-down style.
The Blue Raiders were first to score during the top of the third with back-to-back runs after reaching base on two errors by the pitcher. Selynna Metcalfe put the Lady Tigers on the scoreboard with a home run to the left field.
Much like the first, the fourth inning did not last long, putting each other away in a three-up, three-down fashion.
The top of the fifth began with back-to-back doubles for Lindsey Wilson, resulting in another run for the Blue Raiders. Campbellsville was again quickly put away in a three-up, three-down style during the bottom of the inning.
The sixth inning quickly ended, with neither team able to reach base.
Lindsey Wilson was put away in a three-up, three-down style to begin the seventh. Although three Lady Tigers reached base via walk to load Campbellsville's bases during the bottom of the seventh, neither managed to get home, closing the game with a loss.
GAME TWO: Campbellsville 7, Lindsey Wilson 6
The Blue Raiders began the game with a run after grounding to second base. Rylee Warner singled up the middle to bring in Campbellsville's first run. Metcalfe tripled to right field for a 2-RBI, bringing Warner and Jessie Daniels across the plate and stealing the lead. Metcalfe followed across the home plate shortly after with a single to left field from Ashby Murt.
Lindsey Wilson was put away in a three-up, three-down style to begin the second. Korey Harris singled to left field to open the bottom of the inning, stealing second base shortly after. Emily Reynolds reached base via a walk, and Daniels reached base on a fielder's choice; however, neither could score before switching sides with the Blue Raiders.
With a single to left field, Lindsey Wilson scored their second game run at the top of the third. Metcalfe came into the bottom of the inning with her second home run.
A double to right field resulted in another Blue Raider run to close the top of the fourth. The Lady Tigers were quickly put away in a three-up, three-down fashion during the bottom of the inning.
Both teams collected a hit throughout the fifth, but neither could score before the end of the inning.
Lindsey Wilson tied the score with a 2-RBI double down the left-field line during their share of the sixth. Much like the fourth, Campbellsville was put away in three-up, three-down.
The Blue Raiders stole the lead at the top of the seventh with a single up in the middle. The Lady Tigers did not falter coming into the bottom of the final inning. Reynolds led off with a home run, followed by a walk-off home run from Daniels to close the second game with a victory.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 13th, for the series' last game against the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders beginning at 3 p.m. ET.

- At the end of the doubleheader, Metcalfe led with three runs, four hits, four RBIs, and two home runs. Throughout the day, Reynolds, Ellie Coley, and Emma Markham worked together, striking out 11 Blue Raider batters.
