CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- The #14 Lady Tigers took on the (RV) Tennessee Wesleyan University Bulldogs for the home opener game on Thursday night. Although the Lady Tigers came into the game with avid attempts at the victory, the Bulldogs remained in the lead and closed the game with a win, 3-1.

• Sophomore Amelie Matheis led Campbellsville with six shots and four shots on goal.
• Tonight's match-up saw heavy physical action, resulting in a total of 22 fouls, six yellow cards, and two red cards throughout the contest.
• The Lady Tigers will be back in action hosting the Missouri Baptist University Spartans on Saturday, August 23rd beginning at 6 p.m. ET.

Molly Metcalfe and Grace Smith came onto the field strong with back-to-back shots. Tennessee Wesleyan scored less than 20 minutes into the first half, swiftly getting ahead in the game. Amelie Matheis shot at the goal thrice, each saved by the Bulldogs' goalie. Going into the second half, Tennessee Wesleyan led the game 1-0.

Six minutes into the second half, Tennessee Wesleyan collected another goal to increase their advantage over Campbellsville. However, a couple of minutes later, Bethin Boyle scored the Lady Tigers' first goal, bringing them closer to catching up with the lead.  The Bulldogs got past Campbellsville's defense and scored their third goal of the night. The Lady Tigers were unable to connect again, losing the game to the Bulldogs, 3-1.
