  • Although Campbellsville did not take the win, they remained close to Taylor in multiple statistical categories of the contest, with 11 shots to their 18, eight shots on goal to their 12, and five corners to their three.
  • Julia Ogden led the Tigers with four shots and three shots on goal, followed by Amelie Matheis with two shots and two shots on goal.
  • Milly Shakespeare collected eight saves throughout the night.
  • Today's game was Campbellsville's sixth ever game against Taylor; today's defeat was the Tigers' first loss against the Trojans since 2018.
  • The Tigers will be back in action, hosting the Oakland City University Mighty Oaks on Tuesday, September 9th, beginning at 6 p.m. ET for the first home doubleheader of the season.

In the opening minutes of the game, Taylor scored the first goal of the day. Amelie Matheis, Fiona Jolly, and Julia Ogren collected shots as the match continued to unfold, unable to put Campbellsville on the scoreboard. With less than ten minutes left in the first half, Grace Smith came off the bench to score the Tigers' first goal of the match, tying the score going into the second period of the play, 1-1.

Much like the first, the Trojans came into the second half with two back-to-back goals, gaining the lead. Although Jolly had a few opportunities at the corner, and Oddny Helgadottir and Matheis attempted to score, Campbellsville struggled to catch up with Taylor. The Trojans scored their fourth goal of the game in minute 86' of the contest, closing the game with a victory for Taylor, 4-1.
