Campbellsville rises to No. 23 in final NAIA regular-season poll

| By:
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Following a share of the Mid-South Conference regular-season championship, the Campbellsville University women's soccer team climbed one spot to No. 23 in the final STADIONIC-NAIA Women's Soccer National Selection Committee Top 25 Poll released Wednesday.

The Tigers finished the regular season 11-2-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play, winning their final three matches. Campbellsville most recently defeated Cumberland University 3-2 on Saturday to secure a share of the conference title with Lindsey Wilson University and the University of the Cumberlands.

Campbellsville has outscored its opponents 65-13 through 15 matches, averaging 4.33 goals while allowing 0.87 per contest. The Tigers hold advantages of 318-134 in shots, 171-66 in shots on goal, and 68-47 in corner kicks.

The Tigers have recorded nine shutouts and remain unbeaten at Finley Stadium with a 7-0-1 home record. Campbellsville has scored at least four goals nine times, including a 4-0 victory over then-No. 6 Cumberlands on Oct. 1.

Marta Prieto leads Campbellsville with 14 goals, six assists, and 34 points. Julia Ogren follows with 13 goals and four assists, while Amelie Matheis has contributed 11 goals and one assist. Fiona Jolly has added 10 goals, two assists, and a team-high four match-winning goals.

Oddny Helgadottir has scored three goals, all match-winners, including the deciding finish against Cumberland. Grace Smith has added four goals, while Laura Munoz has recorded two goals and four assists.

Sydney Hall has made 48 saves with a .787 save percentage and a 0.96 goals-against average across 1,213 minutes, 31 seconds. Verena Schneider has stopped all four shots she has faced without conceding a goal in 134:12.

Three Mid-South Conference programs appear in the final Top 25. Cumberlands climbed to No. 4, Lindsey Wilson moved to No. 8, and Campbellsville advanced from No. 24. Spring Arbor University, which played Campbellsville to a scoreless draw in September, rose to No. 5.

Campbellsville enters the MSC Championship Tournament as the No. 1 seed, earning the top position through its plus-15 conference goal differential under the tiebreaker's four-goal-per-match cap. The Tigers receive a first-round bye and will host their second-round match.
