KNOXVILLE, Tenn. / ALEXANDRIA, Ky.- The Tigers Track and Field teams split this past weekend, competing in the Norse Track Invitational and the Tennessee Invite, collecting multiple podium finishes. The men's squad finished third overall, while the women placed fifth at the Norse Track Invitational. Marcus Bell Jr. led the way with a first-place performance in the men's shot put, recording a 16.09m throw and setting a new program record.
- Marcus Bell Jr. won the men's shot put with a mark of 16.09m (52' 9½"), setting a new Campbellsville program record.
- Martin Batel captured first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Tennessee Invite with a time of 9:33.88.
- JaQuez Campbell secured a first-place finish in the men's long jump, recording a leap of 7.18m (23' 6¾").
- Jason Baskerville led the men's sprints with runner-up finishes in both the 100-meter dash (10.81) and 200-meter dash (22.23).
- Makiyah Allen delivered a strong performance with a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (14.73) and a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (12.58).
- Nathan Sury recorded marks in both the 800 meters (1:57.25) and 1500 meters (3:58.41).
- The Tigers will return to action for a split weekend of competition, beginning at the Centre Twilight on April 17 in Danville and traveling to the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 17-18 in Atlanta.
At Northern Kentucky University, the Tigers made an immediate impact in the field events. JaQuez Campbell led the way with a first-place finish in the men's long jump, soaring 7.18m (23' 6¾"). Marcus Bell Jr. dominated the shot put with a throw of 16.09m (52' 9½"), not only securing first place but also setting a new program record.
In the women's throws, Kayla Barr earned a second-place finish in the discus (37.07m) and followed it with a third-place mark in shot put. Madison Farmer also added a third-place finish in discus and fourth in shot put.
Makiyah Allen stood out as one of the top performers of the meet. Allen placed second in the 100-meter hurdles (14.73), fourth in the 100-meter dash (12.58), and added another top performance finish in the 200 meters.
Jason Baskerville led the men's sprints with a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100 (10.81) and 200 (22.23), continuing his strong season.
In distance events, Samuel Larson and Ethan Johnson contributed solid efforts in the steeplechase and 800 meters, respectively, while the mid-distance and distance squads continued to gain valuable experience across the board.
The Tigers' relay teams also showed promise, with the women's 4x100 relay securing a third-place finish and the men's 4x100 squad clocking a 41.09.
Meanwhile, at the Tennessee Invite, the Tigers faced a deeper field of competition and continued to deliver top performances.

The sprint group continued its success, with Chris Thomas and Matthias Brice both recording NCCAA qualifying times in the 400 meters, while Isiah Bain added solid finishes in the 100 and 200 meters.
In the field, David Young finished in third place in the triple jump, reaching 15.04m, marking one of the top performances of the weekend.
