CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Lady Tigers hosted the (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions on Friday to close their three-game conference series. Campbellsville broke a tie in the penultimate inning to secure their third straight victory against Freed-Hardeman.
- Korey Harris, Jessie Daniels, and Macy McCoy led the Lady Tigers with two hits each.
- Daniels highlighted Campbellsville's offense with two home runs and four RBIs.
- The Lady Tigers will be back in action hosting the Johnson University Royals on Tuesday, April 7th for a doubleheader beginning at 4 & 6 p.m. ET.
After a short-lived top of the first for the Lady Lions, put away in three-up, three-down style, the Lady Tigers were first on the scoreboard with a two-run home run by
Jessie Daniels. Freed-Hardeman stole the lead with a single to shortstop and a two-run home run at the top of the second.
The game saw little action throughout the third and fourth innings, each team collecting a couple of hits but unable to reach home.
Daniels attacked again at bat, with another two-run homer, reclaiming Campbellsville's lead during the bottom of the fifth. However, the Lady Lions tied the score at four with a homerun of their own at the top of the second-to-last inning of the contest.
Korey Harris took it upon herself to take the upper hand for the Lady Tigers, singling to left field to bring
Macy McCoy across the plate. Freed-Hardeman collected two hits at the top of the seventh, but with an out at home from
Madison Reed to
Rylee Warner secured the series sweep for Campbellsville.
