Vanessa Adkins led the Tiger cheerleaders to back-to-back Mid-South Conference championships in 2009 and 2010 while being named the MSC Coach of the Year both years. In 2015 Adkins also led the Tigers to their fourth MSC championship, picking up her fourth MSC Coach of the Year honor.
During her time she has had one cheerleader named MSC Cheerleader of the Year (Bethany Gray in 2009), a cheerleader named All-Conference 12 times and All-Academic 47 times. Also, since 2009, Adkins has led Campbellsville to have five MSC Champions of Character and has won four-straight - Alicia Wren (2009), Audrey Wunderlich (2012), Alexa Moore (2013, Miwa Matsuo (2014) and Jessica Tinsley (2015).
In 2012, Adkins successfully hosted the NAIA East Region Qualifier, taking home a Silver bid to the second-annual NAIA Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla. In the Tigers first-ever NAIA national competition, CU won the Challenge Cup to advance to the final round, finishing sixth in the small co-ed competition.
Adkins cheerleading background includes being a member of the 1992-93 University of Kentucky cheerleading squad and also cheering four years at Greenup County High School. While at Greenup County, she was a member of the UCA National Championship Cheer squad of 1992.
Adkins graduated from Morehead State University in 1998 and obtained a Masters of Education at Campbellsville University in 2006. She is an elementary school teacher with the Campbellsville Independent Schools.
She is married to former CU men's basketball head coach Keith Adkins and has four children, Ashley, Bradley, Sarah and Luke.
