Mario García begins his first season as an Assistant Track & Field Coach for Throws at Campbellsville University, starting in August 2025, bringing an international background and a strong foundation in athlete development to the program.

Originally from Cartagena, Spain, García has been involved in the throwing events since the age of 13. He competed at a high level throughout his athletic career, earning a national runner-up finish at the Spanish National Championships, while developing a deep understanding of the technical and physical demands required for success in the throws.

García began his collegiate academic and athletic career at Cowley Community College (Kan.) before completing his degree in International Business at William Carey University (Miss.). His experience as a student-athlete across multiple levels of competition has played a significant role in shaping his coaching philosophy, which emphasizes discipline, technical excellence, and long-term athlete development.

As a coach, García values building strong relationships with student-athletes and is committed to their growth both in competition and in life. He emphasizes effort, consistency, and accountability while fostering a positive and competitive team culture. García takes pride in helping athletes build confidence, refine their skills, and reach their full potential.
