Ranard Adkison

Ranard Adkison was named Head Track and Field Coach at Campbellsville University on July 9, 2024. He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the Tigers’ program, having coached across multiple levels of collegiate track and field.

Adkison’s coaching résumé includes stops at Stony Brook University, Talladega College, Sacred Heart University, Southwest Baptist University, Cal State University–Los Angeles, and Texas A&M University–Commerce. Throughout his career, he has developed numerous standout athletes, including NCAA national champions, conference champions, All-Americans, and U.S. national championship qualifiers. He is widely respected for his expertise in the sprints, jumps, and hurdle events, and is known for a coaching philosophy grounded in discipline, technical precision, and student-athlete development.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Adkison was a decorated NCAA Division I student-athlete at Long Island University–Brooklyn, where he earned seven first-team All-Conference honors and set multiple school and conference records. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from LIU–Brooklyn, a Master of Science in Education from Southwest Baptist University, and a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University–Commerce.

He also holds certifications from USA Track & Field (USATF) and the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Coach Adkison is passionate about building a culture of excellence and preparing student-athletes for success both on the track and in life. He is committed to leading Campbellsville University’s Track and Field program to new heights.
