Kyle Caven completed his 16th season as the head coach of the Men's Tennis program. He went 13-11 overall and 6-4 in the conference.
Kyle Caven joined the Campbellsville University athletic staff in February 2008 as the head coach for Tiger and Lady Tiger tennis. His first win came against Asbury University on March 5, 2008 (7-2).
A 2006 graduate of Campbellsville University, Caven played for the Tigers for four seasons before beginning his coaching career. He is a USPTR Certified Professional.
In 2012, 2015, 2018, and 2019, Caven led the Tiger men's tennis team by winning the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championship. In 2011, he led the Lady Tigers to their first Mid-South Conference regular season championship and runner-up finish in the MSC Tournament. He also led the Tigers to their first share of a MSC regular season title. Prior to the 2010-11 season, Caven coached Pablo Numbela and Carlos Anton to a No. 1 doubles finish in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region. The duo went on to finish third at the 2010 ITA Nationals in October 2010. Following the 2011 spring season, Caven was named the MSC Coach of the Year for both programs. He also received the honor for the men's program in 2009.
In 2017, he led the men's tennis program to the NAIA National Championship semifinals and then went to the quarterfinals for the second-straight season in 2018. They earned an At-Large bid in the 2019 NAIA National Championship and were knocked out in the first round by Arizona Christian.
With a relatively young roster in the 2021 season, Caven led the Tigers to a winning record and a trip to the NCCAA National Championship where they eventually fell to Judson University. Both Raul Safont and Matus Sevcik led the team as singles competitors, earning the team's lone All-MSC selections for their performances in 2021.
On the women's side, Caven has served as head coach twice - from 2008-2016 and 2017-present. He has helped lead the Lady Tigers to their first MSC Regular Season title in 2011 with a perfect 5-0 mark. The Lady Tigers reached the MSC Tournament finals for the first time in 2012 under Caven's leadership.
Beginning in the summer of 2010, Caven has traveled at least once a year on mission trips to the Dominican Republic with SCORE International to teach tennis and minister to locals. He has taught private lessons for many years and was an instructor at the UCLA Tennis Camp in 2006.
A 2002 graduate of Larue County High School, Caven had a successful high school tennis career during three seasons for the Hawks.
