Ben Rosen was added as the second full-time assistant coach for CU men's wrestling in the summer of 2018.
In his first season of 2018-19, the Tigers finished with a 12-9 duals record and he helped lead the Tigers to earning one Mid-South Conference Championship and two All-American honors. Jordan Martinez was the Mid-South Conference Champion at 125 lbs. as Martinez and Jaedin Sklapsky (141 lbs.) followed up with All-American performances at the NAIA Championships.
Rosen, who has experience coaching at the high school and college level, wrestled for Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business in 2014.
While at Cornell, he won 92 career matches and earned his fastest pin 1:19. The most wins in a single-season came during his freshman season with a 28-11 record and earned four pins.
He earned the Cornell Freshman of the Year in 2010-11 and was named NWCA Scholar-Athlete his sophomore and senior seasons.
Most recently, Rosen served as a graduate assistant coach at Doane University in Crete, Nebraska. While at Doane, he had recruiting and coaching responsibilities. On the coaching side, Rosen coached two All-Americans, one national runner-up and a NAIA Scholar-Athlete. In addition, he overhauled the training program and served as 2016 NAIA Regional Tournament Director.
Rosen also supervised and executed the Wilber-Doane High School Wrestling Camp - largest youth camp in Nebraska with 400+ wrestlers and 1,000 matches wrestled by reserving facilities. After graduating from Cornell, Rosen was the assistant coach at Niles West High School in Skokie, Ill. For two years. He ran day-to-day practices with a developed technical plan in order to maximize the use of time in developing the athletes on a daily basis.
