Beatty will be entering his third season as the Secondary's Coach and sixth season total at the collegiate level. His first three were at Kentucky Christian University alongside Coach Russell. He was the Cornerbacks Coach in that time and then also the Special Teams Coordinator in the past season. Beatty’s initial season, he inherited a defense that gave up 59 points per game and dropped it to just 21. He was a part of the best season in KCU history, finishing 6-2 on the season. In year two, KCU had the first ranked pass defense in the NAIA. As Special Teams Coordinator, KCU blocked seven punts and eight field goal and extra point attempts.
Born and raised in Pasadena, California, Beatty was first team all-league defensive back and defensive player of the year at Alhambra High School. He went on to play his first two years of college football at East Los Angeles Community College before he received a scholarship to Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. There, he was a defensive backs captain his senior year.
