The Mid South Conference has announced the 2009 season awards and it couln't have gone any better for the #8 Campbellsville Tigers.  Seven players for the Tigers were named MSC first team all-conference and six were named to the honorable mention team.  The Tigers also swept the player of the year, pitcher of the year, and coach of the year awards.  To top off the awards, the Tigers placed ten on the academic all conference team.

Chris Curley headlined the group, taking down the player of the year award.  The junior third baseman finished the year with a .403 average, blasting 18 homeruns, while tallying up 64 RBI.  Curley also had 13 doubles on the year and swiped ten bags.  Senior lefthanded pitcher Marc Wilson took down Pitcher of the Year honors, going 7-0 on the season.

Other first team winners were headlined by Brian Chase.  Chase hit .483 on the season, and was second in the league with 16 round trippers.  Junior catcher Jimmy Voelker was another first teamer.  Voelker hit .404 on the season with 8 homeruns.  He was third in the league with 48 RBI.  Zach Townsend was another first team selection, hitting .440 on the season, good for the third best average in the MSC.  Logan Smith was tabbed first team DH, while blasting 6 homers on the season.  Ian Pick was the second pitcher named to the first team.  The Junior from Santa Clara, California was 6-0 on the season with a paltry 2.13 ERA.

Second team winners included Bryan Fuller, Colin Bryan, Nick Bertolucci, Alex Tolmachoff, Alex Ponich, and Eric Mattos.  Academic All Conference winners included Nick Bertolucci, Jon Bourassa, Rob Elliott, Spencer Frantz, Bryan Fuller, Tyler Lambert, Brian Gray, Nathan Quesenberry, Logan Smith, and Curtis Payne.

The led the MSC in awards and the 2009 Conference Champions will resume their postseason next week when they find out what bracket they are in.
