CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. — Campbellsville's Marcelo Petit, junior, Asuncion, Paraguay, was named MSC Co-Player of the Year for men's soccer, joining St. Catharine's (Ky.) Ashley Woods, officials announced at the recent banquet held prior to the MSC Tournament
Twelve other Tigers were honored in one way of the other for their work on the field and in the classroom this past season.
Roraigh Yearwoor junior, London England;
Alex Ryan, junior, Newcastle, England; and
Adam Linderholm, senior, Boras, Sweeden; joined Petit on the MSC First Team. Gustave Carlsson, senior, Annelund, Sweden and
Adam Fridell, senior, Gothenburg, SSweden were named to the Second Team.
Making Academic All-Conference were: Carlsson, Linderholm, Petit, Ryan and Fridell … along with
Pablo Barrio, sophomore, Balaga, Spain;
Guilherme Cheng, sophomore, Brassilia, Brazil; Gabriel De Fretias, junior, Caracassss, Venezuela; Martin Haapassari, senior, BoraSwedenden;
Maurizio Infante, junior, Caracas, Venezuela; and
Chris Moyo, junior, Bury, England.
Moyo was CU's nominee for Champion of Character.
Cumberland's (Tenn.) Marty Owens is the MSC Freshman of the Year while St. Catharine's Tim Wolz is the Mid-South Coach of the Year. Cumberland's Ian Hamilton is the conference's men's soccer champions of character recipient.
