Clements named Third-Team NAIA All-American; Doram named Honorable Mention

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2017-18 Division I Women's Basketball All-America Teams on Thursday and Campbellsville University has a pair of Lady Tigers mentioned.

Madison Clements earned a NAIA Third-Team All-American honor – the first of her career – and Jordan Doram was named NAIA Honorable Mention – also a first.

CU has had a pair of All-Americans in three of the last four seasons - 2014-15 when Chelsea Craig was a Third-Team honoree and Lindsay Burd was named Honorable Mention. And again in 2015-16 whe Burd earned First Team honors and Emily Fox was Honorable Mention.

Clements, a senior from Clementsville, Tenn., finished her career ranked No. 29 on the all-time scoring list for CU with 1,178 points. She finished her career with a bang, scoring 22 points vs. Shawnee State in the Mid-South Conference Championship game, a career-high 32 vs. Faulkner University in the first round of the NAIA Tournament and then 22 again vs. Montana Western in the Round of 16.

Clements averaged 12.6 points per game and scored in double-figures in 16 of the 32 games. She also stepped up her defense with 75 steals – ranking No. 15 in the NAIA – and 2.3 steals per game – ranking No. 21.

The 32 points vs. Faulkner in the opening round of the NAIA Tournament sparked CU to a 79-63 win. She splashed six 3-point baskets and finished hitting 10-of-16 from the floor.

Doram, a junior from Georgetown, Ky., also had a stellar year in the paint. She averaged 11.4 points per game and shot 61 percent from the floor.

She had a standout performance against Lindsey Wilson College in the MSC Semifinal, dropping a career-high 26 vs. the Blue Raiders on 13-of-15 shooting. She is also on pace to surpass 1,000 career points and she has scored 91, 356 and 402 in the first three seasons a Lady Tiger. She currently had 849 career points and will look to continue the streak of four-straight seasons with a Lady Tiger to surpass the 1,000-point mark (Lindsey Burd, 2015-16; Emily Fox, 2016-17; Madison Clements, 2017-18).

In addition to these two Lady Tigers, the MSC had three players earned First-Team honors – Kayla Styles from Lindsey Wilson and Shawnee State's Ashton Lovely and Madison Ridout. Joining Clements on the third team was University of the Cumberlands' Cheyenne Madden.

The Lady Tigers finished with a 29-6 record and reached the NAIA Championship for the 26th time in history – an NAIA record. CU lost to Montana Western in the NAIA Round of 16 to end its season..
