CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Mid-South Conference officials announced Campbellsville's
McKayla Campbell earned Women's Wrestler of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.
Campbellsville, a sophomore from Wauseon, Ohio, earns her second honor of the year and second of her career.
Campbell went 5-0 on the week and won the 109-pound weight class at the King University Tornado Open.
She opened the week with a pin of 13th-ranked Jessica Rodriguez of Cumberlands (Ky.), helping the Lady Tigers to a 27-20 dual match win.
Campbell dominated the Tornado Open, picking up a pin and three tech falls to win her weight class without surrendering a point.
She has not lost a match in any open/invitational on the year and is ranked No. 2 in the 109-pound weight class.
The Lady Tigers will now have a week to prepare for the McKendree University Bearcat Open on Saturday, Jan. 26 before hosting Life University on Tuesday, Jan. 29.
