COLUMBIA, Ky. – Campbellsville University women’s volleyball didn’t just come out of a six-match weekend with four wins but also the Mid-South Conference’s Attacker and Setter of the week in Sutton Mason and Paige Merrick.
For Mason, it is her first weekly honor of her early career as a Lady Tiger and Merrick will earn her second-career Setter of the Week with her first of this season.
A redshirt freshman from Nashville, Tenn., Mason is the leading attacker for CU so far on the season with 133 kills on the season. She hit down 69 attacks in the six matches over the week with a career-high 17 in the five-set win over Asbury on Saturday.
The second-year setter from Coxs Creek, Ky., Merrick assisted on 184 kills over five matches played as she did not play against Brewton-Parker on Friday. She also recorded a season-high 55 assists in the tournament finale against Asbury Saturday.
The Lady Tigers will have another busy week ahead of them as they will have a pair of back-to-back match days starting tonight at Shawnee State. That will follow another road match at Brescia on Tuesday then home matches on Thursday and Friday against Life and University of the Cumberlands.
