Wendi Messer's Three Pointer With :54 Remaining Lifts Campbellsville to 54-52 Win

Campbellsville, Kentucky - A late three pointer by Wendi Messer (FR/Barbourville, Kentucky) gave Campbellsville the lead for good as the Lady Tigers beat Brescia University 54-52 in the Powell Athletic Center.
 
Campbellsville trailed by as many as ten points in the first half and never led in the game until Melly Heaton (FR/Princeton, KY) hit a three pointer with 3:26 remaining in the game to put the Lady Tigers up 50-49.  Brescia would tie the game on a Christal Floyd free throw at 50-50 with 1:38 remaining.


Then, with :54 remaining, Messer hit a three to put Campbellsville up for good at 53-50.  Brescia's Clarissa Houston putback a missed shot to pull the Lady Bearcats within 1 at 53-52 with :08 left but Priscila Alves (SR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) made a free throw and Brescia missed the final shot to tie the game as the horn sounded.
 
Danis and Heaton led Campbellsville with 13 points while Alves added 12 in the win as Campbellsville improved to 13-8.  The Lady Tigers host Lindsey Wilson in a Mid-South Conference battle on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.
