Campbellsville came up just short in it's annual Homecoming football game losing 24-14 to 23rd ranked Shorter College.

Campbellsville struck first at the 12:07 mark in the first quarter on a one yard run by Greg Fountain to give the Tigers the early lead but back to back touchdowns by shorter int he first period put the visitors on top for good.  Shorter would strike again in the second frame with a field goal and a 98-yard touchdown run in the third period before Campbellsville could tack it's final points on the board with 1:26 to go in the third quarter to make it 24-14.

Campbellsville was held to 83 yards rushing but made up for that with 249 in the air.  However, the Hawks, one of the leading rushing teams in the country with 371 yards.

The Tigers fall to 1-4 while Shorter is 4-1.  Campbellsville travels to Wise, VA to play UVA-Wise on Saturday.  The Cavaliers defeated Georgetown today 35-28.
