Top seeded Campbellsville University was upset 3-1 yesterday in the opening round of the NCCAA National Volleyball Tournament in Lakewood, Colorado by Southwest Assemblies of God.   Campbellsville lost the match to the eighth seeded team in four games (21-25; 20-25; 25-17; 15-25).

The Lady Tigers recovered later in the day to defeat 5th seeded Cedarville 3-1 (25-23; 25-27; 25-23; 25-23).

"We were obviously disappointed with the opening loss," said CU Coach Randy LeBleu.  "However to bounce back and win a tough match against Cedarville helped.  On Friday we'll have to play well to defeat the host team, Colorado Christian, and basically now our backs are against the wall as we'll need to win out to have a shot to be National Champions," he added.

Campbellsville plays on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time against Northwestern College..
