Jeffery Gumm Is Medalist at Rome News Tribune Invitational; Tigers Fourth in Team Standings

Rome, Georgia - Jeffery Gumm shot a two day total of 141 and won a four-way playoff to become the Medalist at the Rome News-Tribune Invitational Golf Tournament in Rome, Georgia today.   Gumm shot a 72 yesterday and bested that by three strokes today with a 69 and was tied with Jeff Ivall of Northwood, Samuel del Val of Berry and Patrick Scheil of John A. Logan Community College before winning the playoff.
 
The Tigers, tied for second with Northwood after the first round with a 291, shot 301 today for a two day total of 592 to wind up in a fourth place tie with Shorter College.  Twenty teams participated in the two day event.


Lindenwood won the tournament with a score of 580, followed by Berry College with 583 and Northwood with 585. 
 
Campbellsville's Scott Webb finished in a tie for 18th with a two day total of 148, Brandon Young tied for 27th with a 150, Jeff Sullivan tied for 45th with a score of 154 and Josh Foster tied for 67th with a 158.
