COLUMBIA, Ky. — The Campbellsville men's golf team caught fire in the final round of the Lindsey Wilson Spring Invite, carding an 11-under-par team score to secure second place overall at The Pines. The Tigers finished the 54-hole tournament at 15-under par, distancing themselves from third-place Taylor University by a single stroke. On the women's side, the Tigers finished fourth in the team standings with a total score of 92-over par.
- The Campbellsville University men's golf team secured a runner-up finish with a three-round total of 15-under par, highlighted by a blistering 11-under final round.
- The men's squad dominated the long game, finishing 25-under par on Par 5s and sinking 61 total birdies across the tournament.
- Carson Childress, Corentin Hue, and individual competitor Jagger Clinton McBride each recorded an eagle to bolster the Tigers' scoring.
- The Campbellsville women's golf team finished fourth overall at 92-over par, but demonstrated steady resilience by cutting their round scores from 42-over in round one to 21-over in the final round.
- Conleigh Wilson anchored the women's team with a team-high 35 pars, while Hallie Jo Simpson paced the squad with six birdies.
- Both the men's and women's Tiger Golf teams will look to carry their momentum north as they prepare for the Lawrence Tech Invite at Heritage Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, teeing off on Friday, March 27.
Campbellsville's men opened the tournament with a solid 4-under-par first round before shooting even-par in round two. The Tigers made their money on the Par 5s throughout the event, shooting a collective 25-under par on the longest holes, ranking second only to Lindsey Wilson in that category. The squad also tallied 61 total birdies and two eagles over the three rounds.
Individually,
Carson Childress (7th overall) and
Javier Anez (T-21st) paced the team's birdie production, sinking 13 apiece. Childress capitalized on the Par 3s, playing them at 2-under par, while also sinking one of the team's eagles.
Niik Triyananont (T-24th) was an absolute force on the Par 5s, playing them at 8-under par for the tournament, while Daniel Drjievic (T-14th) matched the intensity by playing the Par 5s at 6-under.
Corentin Hue (T-11th) also found the bottom of the cup for an eagle, adding 11 birdies of his own.
Carson Beckham carded 36th and, playing as an individual, Jagger Clinton McBride (T-41st) joined the eagle club while adding seven birdies to his scorecard.
Despite a tough leaderboard position, Campbellsville's women showed tremendous grit, improving their team score in every round. After opening with a 42-over-par first round, the Tigers shaved 13 strokes to shoot 29-over in round two, and followed it up with an impressive 21-over-par final round.
Conleigh Wilson, who finished T-8th, was the model of consistency for Campbellsville, recording a team-high 35 pars while playing the Par 5s at just 1-over par.
Hallie Jo Simpson (12th) capitalized on her scoring opportunities, leading the Tigers with six birdies and playing the Par 5s at even-par.
Priya Latchayya (17th) delivered a strong performance on the short holes, playing the Par 3s at a stellar 1-over par for the tournament while adding three birdies.
Tinsley Neagle and
Kennedy Daughtry were T-20th while
Briley Choate finished 23rd.
