Tigers fall to Cumberland in OT

Campbellsville University played a fierce overtime match against Cumberland University on Thursday, but the Bulldogs came away with the win, 1-0.


Both teams fought for possession of the in the first half. The Tigers pressed the ball well in the second period, but not enough to put the Bulldogs down. Cumberland took the game in the second minute of overtime, as Bulldog forward Plinio Campos scored the game-winning goal.



Cumberland goalkeeper Michael Michailidis had three saves in the game, while James Clements had two for Campbellsville. A total of four yellow cards were dished out in the game, three to Cumberland and one to the Tigers.

CU ( 3-6, 1-1 MSC) host another non-conference game at home Tuesday as the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City University come to town for a 3 p.m. game.
