Lady Tigers sweep second day at Lindenwood

Campbellsville University handed Baker University of Kansas its first loss of the season Saturday, 3-2, in the Lindenwood University Tournament.




The Lady Tigers dropped the first game, 25-16, but rallied back to win the next two 25-20 and 29-27. Baker stole the fourth game, 25-22, but CU closed out the win, 15-11, in the fifth set.

Shannon Cahill collected 18 kills, followed by Renee Netherton's 14 to lead the Lady Tigers. Caroline Martin had 35 assists.

CU also defeated Missouri Baptist College in four sets, (25-17, 25-21, 18-25, 25-14). Brooke Marcum led CU with 11 kills, while Netherton had 10 kills. Caitlin Dressing led the Lady Tiger defense with 22 digs, while Martin had 37 assists.

Campbellsville (19-7) travels to the University of the Cumberlands on Monday at 7 p.m.
