Campbellsville University's women's golf team finished third in the
six-team field at the two-day, 36-hole Bill Sergent Invitational in
London on Friday.
The Lady Tigers, led by junior
Kaela Smith, who finished fifth overall, shot a second-day 341.
Smith fired an 84 over the Crooked Creek Golf Course layout to finish the 36 holes at 160.
Lauren Goodin had a second-day 86 for a 169.
Amy Cline improved five shots from her first-day 89 and shot a 173.
Shelly Minix shot an 87 and
McLane Farr a 92 to round out Campbellsville's two-day total of 677.
Lindsey Wilson won the tournament with a 629 total and the host University of the Cumberlands was at 652 when the tournament ended. Krista Burton of Lindsey was the tournament medalist with a 150 total for the 36 holes.
Other scores for individual Lady Tiger golfers were:
Katie White 89 (173), Lindsey Jones 89 (186) and
Joy Carter 99 (198).
The women don't retun to action until Monday, Sept 21 when they compete in the Don Bishop Invitational at Campbellsville Country Club.
