Box Score Campbellsville's offense sputtered and the Lady Tiger soccer team took one on the chin Saturday at Asbury, 2-1.
"We didn't do the little things," said coach
Thom Jones. "We certainly didn't play our best soccer."
After a scoreless first 45 minutes, Asbury score twice in the second half to take a 2-0 lead into the 71st minute.
Megan Campbell countered with an unassisted goal in the 72nd minute, but the damage had already been done.
Jones said his squad had been controlling the first 15-20 minutes of the second half, but Asbury countered and his team wasn't prepared for it.
Asbury's Rebecca Batey scored the first goal off and assist from Kelli Dierdorf and the second off an unassisted goal by Andrea Hasik.
Campbellsville was outshot 16-9.
Asbury, which won the KIAC with a 5-0 record, improved to 6-12 overall. Campbellsville slipped to 10-7 and closes out the regular season on Tuesday when the Lady Tigers host Bethel at 7 p.m. It will mark the final game for
