Campbellsville University finished third among Mid-South
Conference schools in the men's golf MSC Spring Invitational on Friday, but the
Tigers were 12
th overall with a combined score of 655.
Josh Ratterman and
Scott Foster led the Tigers on the first day, each shooting
78. The first-round, 6-over par scores were the best for CU in the tournament.
Ratterman went on to shoot 83 on Friday to lead CU with a 161 and sit tied at
36
th.
Logan Griffin was second for CU with a 163, while
Cory Prewitt
and Foster each shot 169.
David Lee was 10 strokes back of Ratterman with a
171.
Host school, University of the Cumberlands won the event with a 601 team score.
Piere Carlson of Cumberlands took first individually with a one-under par
performance Thursday and a one-over second round Friday. He finished with an
even-par 144 after two days.
Lindsey Wilson College was sixth overall and second among MSC schools.
Campbellsville is next scheduled to compete in the Union College Invite at
Wasioto Winds in Pineville, Ky., April 12-13. It will be the final tournament
of the season in preparation for the MSC Championships April 26-27 at Cherry
Blossom in Georgetown, Ky.
