Campbellsville's women could not maintain their first-round pace and
slipped to third in the Mid-South Spring Event held at Cherry Blossom
Golf Course in Georgetown yesterday and today.
"The first day I was really pleased," said coach Lindsay Hines, "but the
second day we played just awful. We started off so bad that we couldn't
recover."
The Lady Tigers were two stokes better (325) after the first round than
the eventual tournament winner - Lindsey Wilson. But a second round 332
sealed their fate. Cumberlands shot a 321-317 for second place. Lindsey
had a 635 and CU a 657.
Katie White fired a 78-81 to lead the Lady Tigers. She was also named to the All-Tournament team.
White was supported by senior Shelly Mini. Minix who shot an 82-83,
Lauren Goodin had a 79-88,
Kaela Smith 86-80 and McLain Farr rounded out the team scoring with a 90-91.
Individuals for CU posting scores were
Lindsay Jones (85-85) and
Joy Carter (93-100).
