Tigers record third shutout at Finley Stadium

Box Score Campbellsville University bounced back from Wednesday's 4-1 loss at No. 12 Lindsey Wilson College with a 4-0 win over Bluefield College Saturday night at home in Finley Stadium.



Junior forward Ramiro Sanchez, who netted the goal at Lindsey Wilson, opened the scoring for the Tigers with a goal in the sixth minute of play off an assist from freshman Jamie Allen. Seniors Gustavo Valencillos and Alex Adams extended the lead to 3-0 at halftime with goals in the 15th and 35th minutes of the game, respectively. Adams also had two assists in the game, feeding the ball to Valencillos in the first half and to Keegan Prince in the second half for the Tigers' fourth goal of the game. Pontus Yngve assisted Adams' goal.

Valencillos' goal was his 17th of his career and first in front of a home crowd this season. Prince's goal with 10:10 left to play in the game was the first of his career.

Campbellsville collected 29 shots in the game and held Bluefield to seven total shots and five on goal. CU had eight shots on goal, as the Rams' keeper Justin Cook had four saves in the loss.

The Tigers (6-1) return home Monday to host Brescia University in a non-conference game at 7 p.m.
