Campbellsville University improved to 5-1 in the Mid-South Conference with a tri-match sweep at Pikeville College on Saturday, beating both Pikeville and West Virginia Tech in three sets.Â
The Lady Tigers started the day with a three-set win over host Pikeville College, winning 25-15, 25-13 and 25-8.
Samantha James led CU in the match with 10 kills and six blocks, while Canadian players
Monica Chernichan and Geneieve Collette each had seven kills and
Shannon Cahill had six. Chernichan also had four aces in the win. Cahill led the CU defense with eight digs, while
Caroline Martin and
Audrey Sanders each had six. Martin had 25 assists.Â
In the second match, Chernichan led the way with 14 kills, two aces and three assisted blocks.
Giselle Hernandez followed with nine kills and eight digs, while Sanders led the defense with nine digs.
Lilian DaSilva started at setter, collecting 26 assists.
CU had 17 aces in the two matches.
Campbellsville (12-3, 5-1 MSC) travels to Indiana University Southeast on Tuesday for a match beginning at 7 p.m.
