Griffin, Tigers third in Don Bishop Invitational

Campbellsville University senior Logan Griffin entered Tuesday's final round one stroke out of first place in the Don Bishop Invitational. He nearly pulled out the tournament win if it weren't for a triple bogey on hole 16 that left him at one over on the day and an even par, 144, in the tournament.

For the second consecutive day, Griffin shot an eagle on hole No. 12, becoming the only competitor to have two eagles in the tournament. The eagle moved him to 1 over on the day and an even par in the tournament. As he approached hole 16, the senior from Hawesville, Ky., was back at -1 for the tournament lead before the triple bogey. He finished up with a birdie on 18 and 1 to pull even par and a tie for third place overall.

University of Cumberlands golfer Fredrik Lindblom, who shot a 71 to tie Griffin on Monday, shot 72 to finish in the lead Tuesday. Antonio Arriola of Lindsey Wilson College shot a 70 on Tuesday to rally back from one-over par to tie Lindblom, but loss in the playoff.

Campbellsville sophomore Scott Foster had the low round for CU Tuesday with a 72, shaving five strokes off Monday's total. Quinn Cole and Tanner Mobley each added two strokes Tuesday to round out the Tigers' top four scores with a 79 and 80, respectively. Trey Shirley shot 78 and 81 for the tournament.

The Tigers finished third in the team competition with a team score of 607. University of Cumberlands took first with a score of 583 and Lindsey Wilson College second at 591.

Brandon Collier was the top Tiger golfer competing as an individual, shooting a 77 and 81 over the two days.
