Tiger soccer records first MSC win of season

Box Score PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Jordan Adams and Ramiro Sanchez each netted goals Saturday to lead Campbellsville University men's soccer past the University of Pikeville in a 2-0 shutout - the first Mid-South Conference victory of the season for CU.

Adams fired a shot off the hands of Pikeville goalkeeper Sheldon Thomas in the ninth minute to take an early 1-0 lead. Sanchez later extended the Tigers' lead in the 14th minute off an assist by Emanuel Nfor. Sanchez has now scored in each of his last three games since returning from injury.

Kyle Thomas had two saves, both in the first half, to record his third save of the season and the Tigers' fourth as a team.

Campbellsville collected 31 shots in the game, including 18 on goal, giving Sheldon Thomas a workout for his 16 saves. Casey Clarke and Adams each had six total shots and four on goal. Sanchez placed four of his six shots on target. Nfor had five shots, including three on goal.

The Tigers (6-7-2, 1-2-1 MSC) will host St. Catharine College on Tuesday for an 8 p.m. ET game at Finley Stadium.
