Box Score PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- It was business as usual for the Lady Tiger soccer scoring leaders on Saturday, as
Megan Campbell and
Jessica Ralph netted goals to lead Campbellsville University to victory at the University of Pikeville, 2-1.
Campbell scored quickly for her 12th goal of the season, netting the first goal of the game in the fourth minute of play. The Lady Tigers allowed only one shot by Pikeville in the first half, as they carried a 1-0 lead into the break.
Ten minutes into the second period, Ralph netted what eventually became the game-winning goal. She was 1-of-2 on the night for shots on target.
UPike's Olivia Gipson scored on her only shot of the game in the 66th minute to put the Bears on the board, but CU goalkeeper Brandie Hagerman and the Lady Tiger defense did not let UPike any closer.
Hagerman finished the night with two saves in the second half, while UPike keeper Chelsea Shutle had five saves. Cassie Yannelli, Bailey McDonough and Campbell each had two shots on goal in the win.
The win is the fourth straight for Campbellsville and keeps the Lady Tigers only a game out of first place in the Mid-South Conference.
